All of our Volunteer Mediators are asked
to have a Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) Check. If you wish to find out more and
what it entails, please visit the government web site:
http://www.crb.gov.uk
Runnymede
Association of Voluntary Services (RAVS) process our checks.
It is necessary to make a personal visit to their office
with documents that provide proof of identity and address.
The procedure is as follows:
✔
Contact RAVS to make an appointment (click
here for details).
✔
Attend the RAVS office with suitable
original documents (photocopies are not acceptable). They
can provide details of documents that are suitable and we would
emphasise the need for them to be in your own name and showing
your current address. A full 5-year residential history is required.
✔
The CRB check form will be completed on
the spot by the appropriate RAVS member of staff. This will take
approximately 30 minutes.
✔
Car
mileage expenses for your visit to RAVS will be reimbursed by
Mediation North Surrey on completion of an expense claim form,
which we can provide you with.
Once the disclosure
has been processed the CRB will send one copy of the disclosure
form to the applicant and a copy to RAVS who will forward this to
the Mediation North Surrey (MNS) Coordinator.
MNS undertakes to record the disclosure number safely and
then destroy the disclosure securely. Disclosure
information is only used for the specific purpose for which it is
requested and for which the applicant's full consent has been
given.
