Want to make peace? Can you see both sides to each story? Become a Mediator! If you are a good communicator, a good listener and have an interest in helping people to resolve a dispute with their neighbour without recourse to the legal process or the “Neighbours from Hell” approach, you may be interested in joining our team of volunteer mediators. Our training is generally over 3 - 4 weekends spread over 3 months. Our Mediators work in pairs. They help concerned residents reach an amicable solution to their neighbour problems. The largest areas for concern are noise, antisocial behaviour and boundary disputes. You will need your own transport to travel around our UK Surrey areas (see map below) and should preferably be available for mediation work at various times. The work is varied, challenging and incredibly rewarding and we would like the opportunity to tell you more about it. Work load can be adapted to your availability and expenses are paid. It should be noted that a Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) check will be sought (click here for details) and a recent passport-sized photo is required, or can be taken by us at interview stage. Application form, role description and service standards are available below to download. You can save these Microsoft Word documents to disk by right-clicking on the link and 'save target as' to your PC. Then complete the details, save them and email to us as an attachment.
